A Family Home with Unique Character

The clients were drawn to a laid-back, bohemian style and wanted to find a way to incorporate it with a coastal sensibility. With this in mind, we pulled on natural color palettes, clean lines, and layered textures to achieve a space that feels comfortable and elevated, elegant but not fussy.

The home was recently built, but the previous owner had an arts & crafts aesthetic which our clients didn't share. We lightened the space up while working with the existing wood elements and design details, rather than ripping them out. By painting the ceiling but leaving the cross beams exposed, we were able to highlight the elements they loved about this space while brightening it up.
